Workplace Safety
You are required to work within all relevant statutory regulations, guidelines, industry codes of practice and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. We ask that you are committed to improving the safety consciousness of those around you by:
- Accepting safety as your responsibility.
- Cooperating with others to assist in the improvement of safety practices and issues in the workplace.
- Taking firm but polite action to resolve safety concerns which occur, firstly with the client Supervisor, then with your Recruitment Consultant.
We believe that no single business practice is more important than the safety of our valued employees and those working around them. Remember: your attitude to safety will make a difference!
Please refer to the Occupational Health and Safety information provided to you by your Recruitment Consultant prior to commencing an assignment with us. If you have not received this information, or if you have any questions please contact your Recruitment Consultant.
Workplace Injuries
In the event that an accident occurs at work, please report it to us immediately. As your employer, we are responsible for issuing WorkCover forms and keeping records relating to any injuries that have occurred in the workplace.
If you are injured at work:
- Have your injuries seen to by the workplace First Aid Officer immediately. If in the opinion of the First Aid Officer (or your own opinion) you require medical attention, then you should immediately arrange to a see a medical practitioner.
- Advise your workplace Supervisor and your Recruitment Consultant of your injury, giving your name, address, the date and cause of the injury. Where possible, do this prior to leaving the workplace.
- When visiting a medical practitioner, advise the staff to send the invoice to Bayside Personnel, not the company you are working at.
- If you seek medical attention you must complete a Workers Compensation Claim form, which is available from our office.
- If you need time off work as a result of your injury, you must complete a Workers Compensation Claim form and supply our office with a WorkCover Certificate of Capacity from your medical practitioner. Please make sure you fill in both the front and back pages of the form.
- All documentation must be completed in full, signed and received by our office before any WorkCover payments can be made.
