Employment Conditions

The new Fair Work system (Australia's new national workplace relations system), started on 1 July 2009 created by the Fair Work Act 2009.

The Fair Work system includes:

  • National Employment Standards (NES) - Covers all employees
  • New modern awards - National industry and occupational based awards which cover most employees
  • Enterprise arrangements - Agreements made for specific enterprises (businesses) which cover a group of employees at 1 or more workplaces
