Australia is facing a severe skill shortage, requiring both short and long term solutions from governments and businesses alike. Projected economic growth over the next ten years, in conjunction with low unemployment levels at just 4.3 per cent and more than 28 per cent of our workforce aged 50 and over, means businesses will have to work harder at sourcing and retaining key staff.
The long-term goal of the government, industry associations and many businesses is to foster and higher educate the next generation of skilled workers in Australia. This strategy is aimed at negating or alleviating future shortages in Australia.
As such; Bayside Group, specialist recruiters and approved 457 visa sponsor, is conducting some research to gain a better understanding of how businesses plan to counteract these threats.
Click below to answer a few quick questions, taking no more than 5 minutes, on how Australia's skill shortage will affect your business. Responses remain confidential and results will be published in December 2008.
